Working principle of semi-automatic high-precision flat labeling
The semi-automatic high-precision flat labeling machine is an automated, semi-automatic flat labeling machine widely used in industries such as cosmetics, food, toys, daily chemicals, electronics, and medicine. Application examples include labeling for shampoo bottles, packaging boxes, bottle caps, plastic shells, and more. The following introduces the working principle of the labeling machine and how to adjust the labeling position.
Working principle:
Manually place the workpiece to be labeled in a fixed position → step on the foot switch → press the label cylinder → press the label suction cylinder → the label peeling cylinder retracts to the right, peeling off a label that is then sucked by the suction head → the label covering cylinder presses the label onto the workpiece → all cylinders reset → the traction motor rotates, pulling the next label into the original position. This completes one labeling cycle.
Labeling position adjustment
1.The labeling position is determined by the requirements of the workpiece, and the corresponding jig is created. The front, back, left, and right labeling positions can be adjusted by moving the jig.
2.Height adjustment steps:
Turn the selection switch to manual.
Manually push the label peeling cylinder to the right.
Manually press down the suction and labeling cylinders of the suction head.
Adjust the surface of the workpiece to be about 2mm higher than the sponge surface of the suction head.
Labeling process
- Manually place the workpiece on the jig.
- Press the foot switch.
- The machine automatically applies the label.
- Manually remove the labeled workpiece. (This cycle repeats.)

Common faults and troubleshooting of semi-automatic high-precision flat labeling machines
1. The suction head cannot hold the label
- Insufficient air pressure (increase air pressure).
- The suction hole is blocked (clean the air hole).
The suction head and the label stripping plate are not parallel (adjust the parallelism).
2. The label strip is deviated
- The limit rings on the same side are not in the same plane (loosen the limit rings, let the label strip move about 0.5 meters, then readjust the limit rings).
- The label stripping plate is skewed (readjust the limit block and limit ring at the label stripping position).
3. Continuous labeling
- Continuous labeling and incomplete labeling are related to the sensitivity of the electric eye detection. You can adjust the sensitivity. Please refer to the adjustment method in the previous chapter on adjusting the electric eye.
- If the problem persists after adjusting the electric eye, the label may exceed the applicable range of the selected electric eye, or the electric eye might be damaged, requiring consultation with the manufacturer.
- Another possibility is that the label belt is deviated, causing the electric eye not to detect the label. Adjust the electric eye to the correct detection position.
- Loose bottom paper or low traction speed could be due to slippage of the traction mechanism. If the traction speed is too low, increasing it can solve the problem.
- If the traction mechanism slips, tighten the locking screw on the traction roller until the bottom paper no longer slips.
- Additionally, check if the transmission belt behind the receiving shaft is broken.
4. Broken bottom paper
- Broken bottom paper is closely related to the quality of the label's bottom paper, scratching during label traction, and label adhesion.
- Check if the bottom paper is cut. If so, it is necessary to replace it with high-quality bottom paper. It is recommended to use glassine bottom paper and ask the label supplier to control the die-cutting depth to avoid damaging the bottom paper.
- Check if the label is scratched during its path and eliminate any factors causing the scratching.
If the label is adhered, it may tear easily. Control the length of the next label to ensure it does not stick to the labeled product.
5. Labeling deviation exceeds 2mm
Label deviation is related to the deviation of the label belt, slippage of the label belt and traction wheel, inaccurate product positioning detection, or the label not aligning correctly with the product along the label roller. Check the following factors and address them accordingly:
- If the label belt is deviated, loosen the traction mechanism, pull the label back and forth, and let it automatically run straight. Once it is straight, clamp the limit rings on both sides to guide the label.
- Traction wheel slippage could be caused by wear on the wheel or loosening of the traction wheel locking screw. Both can be fixed by tightening the locking screw.
- Product errors: Manufacturing edge errors can cause labeling deviation. This can only be resolved by controlling product quality.

Semi-Automatic High-Precision Flat Labeling Machine - Equipment Maintenance
Maintenance and Care of Equipment
1.Equipment installation and use environment: The machine should be operated in a room-temperature environment. Avoid using it in high temperature, humid, acidic, or alkaline conditions for extended periods, as this can affect the equipment's service life, efficiency, and accuracy.
Keep the machine clean: After use, components such as the friction roller and electrical box should be cleaned. Alcohol or a commercially available neutral cleaning solution can be used for cleaning and maintenance.
Precautions for cleaning:
A. Avoid using cleaning tools that could damage the surface of the machine.
B. Do not use corrosive plastic utensils.
C. Do not use acidic solvents.
D.Regular inspection and maintenance: The machine should be inspected regularly to ensure normal operation, covering, but not limited to, the following aspects:
- Clean up discarded paper scraps and debris.
- Remove oil residue from the roller and edges.
- Clean the sensor lens with a soft brush or cloth.
- Replace the fuse periodically. Since the machine uses AC power, a fuse should be used to prevent overload.
- Anti-rust care: Apply anti-rust oil to each stainless steel and iron part, and gently wipe with a soft cloth. It is recommended to use Ohm-40 anti-rust oil.
