In industrial production, labeling machines are widely used in food, medicine, cosmetics, electronics and other industries. They quickly and accurately apply labels to products or packaging that contain key information such as brand logos, specifications and production dates. A clear and accurate label not only facilitates the sale and marketing of the product, but also complies with the requirements of laws and regulations.

In actual production, the label position is not right, tilted labels, the speed mismatches and so on often leads to the label to be loose or overlap, seriously affects product appearance and brand image, reduces production efficiency, increases the cost, even causes the product not to conform to the market standard. Therefore, timely and accurate adjustment of labeling machine to solve labeling issues is essential to ensure product quality and improve production efficiency.

How to adjust the positioning device or sensor when the labeling machine's labeling position is incorrect

(I) Common types and functions of positioning devices

Positioning devices is a key part to ensure that the label is correctly affixed to the specified position of the product. Mainly includes mechanical positioning device and electrical positioning devices.

Mechanical positioning devices, such as stop blocks and guide rails, actually limit the movement of products or labels. The stop block can be positioned along the conveyor belt path to stop the product and identify the labeling point; the guide track guides the product or marking along the intended path to ensure the accuracy of the marking.

servo motor-driven positioning drive positioning and other electrical positioning devices, using servo motors precision control capabilities and encoder feedback signals, to achieve accurate control of labeling position. The servo motor adjusts the travel distance and speed of the sticker head according to preset parameters to ensure the accuracy of the sticker application.

(2) Adjustment Principles and procedures for adjustment of mechanical positioning devices

For example, if there is a deviation in the labeling position, the direction and distance of the deviation must be determined first. If the label shifts to the left, adjust the stopper to the right. If the deviation is large, the stopper should be reinstalled. During adjustment, use the tool to loosen the set screw, slowly move the stopper to the desired position and tighten the screw. Repeated labeling tests should be conducted. If deviation persists, further fine-tuning should be made until the desired position is met.

(3) Parameter Setting and adjustment of electrical positioning device.

Labeling machines uses servo motors to locate, needs to adjust servo motor parameters through control system, including position deviation, speed, acceleration etc. According to the actual requirement, modify the corresponding parameters in the interface of the control system, such as product size, labeling speed, etc. For example, if position deviation parameter is set too high, resulting in an inaccurate label, the value can be reduced appropriately. After parameter adjustment, the simulation operation and actual labeling should be carried out to verify the positioning effect.

(4) The Function of sensors in Labeling Positioning.

Sensors can detect the location of products and labels in real time and provide feedback to control system. They are key to precise positioning. Photoelectric sensors detect the presence and position of objects based on the reflection of light. They are usually installed near the label head to feel the product when it arrives at the labeling station. When the product is blocked from light, the sensor sends a signal that triggers the label. Fiber optic sensors have high accuracy and sensitivity and are suitable for special labels such as transparent or reflective detection. By adjusting the transmission and receiving angle of optical fiber, the reliability of the detection can be improved. Depending on the characteristics of the label, Precise calibration of position and angle is required.

(V) Matters Needing Attention During the Adjustment Process

Before making any changes, clean the positioning device and sensor so that dust and stains don't impair how well they work. Use a cloth that is clean or compressed air. After making changes, further labeling tests are done to see if the labeling position is stable and correct. If the results keep changing, more analysis and adjustments will be needed until the quality standards are always satisfied.

When the label on the labeling machine is tilted or skewed, the parts that need to be adjusted and the correction method

(I) Adjusting Label Feed Components

· Adjusting the parallelism of the label feed rollers: The parallelism of the label feed rollers directly affects the stability of label delivery. If the feed rollers are not parallel, labels are prone to shifting during delivery, causing them to tilt. During adjustment, use a level or laser parallelism tester to check the parallelism of the feed rollers. If they are not parallel, adjust the adjustment screws at each end of the feed rollers to maintain parallelism. During adjustment, slowly turn the adjustment screws and observe the changes in the parallelism of the feed rollers in real time until the required level is achieved.

· Adjusting the pressure of the label clamp: The label clamp prevents labels from loosening during delivery. If the pressure of the clamp is too low, the labels are prone to shaking during delivery, causing them to tilt; if the pressure is too high, the labels may be damaged. Adjust the pressure of the clamp appropriately based on the material and thickness of the labels. Generally, for thinner labels, the pressure should be lower; for thicker labels, the pressure can be increased. Adjustment can be achieved by turning the pressure adjustment screws or adjusting the compression of the spring.

(2) Adjust the Labeling Head Correct the angle of the label head:

Fix the angle of the label head: The angle of the label head must be straight up and down from the label feed, else the label will tilt. Check the angle of the label head with the angle gauge. If the angle isn't right, unscrew the screws that hold the label head in place and turn or reposition it until the angle is straight up and down with the label feed. After that, make sure the label is secure by tightening the screws.

Change how far apart the sticker and the surface of the product are: The strength and evenness of the sticker depend on how far away it is from the product surface. The label won't be strong enough and won't stick together if the distance is too big. If the distance is too narrow, the force needed to label will be too high, which could cause damage or deformation. Change the distance between the label head and the product surface based on the form of the product and the type of label. In general, the distance between the labels should be kept within a certain range to make sure that the labeling force is the same and that the stickers s

(3) Inspection and adjustment of Guide Components.

Adjust the position and angle of the label guide: The label guide guides the label in the correct direction to prevent the label from drifting during transport. Make sure the label guide plate is in the right place and at the right angle. If the label leans as it passes, move the guide plate and change its angle. To make sure that the feed is smooth and straight, you can change the angle of the guide plate by moving or turning it.

Check the guide wheel to make sure it works properly. It should move smoothly without sticking or going off course. If the guide wheel doesn't work smoothly, it will make the labeling feed harder, which will cause the labeling to tilt. Check the guide wheel bearing from time to time for wear and tear, and replace it if it is worn. To make sure it works properly, clean the guide wheel's surface to get rid of dirt and debris.

IV. INTRODUCTION Improper labeling speeds is not suitable, may lead to the labeling application incorrectly. Adjust speed parameters or mechanical structures.

(I) Speed Parameter Adjustment

Speed parameter setting interface and operation method of labeling machine control system: Different labeling machine control system may have different operation interfaces, but usually provide speed parameter setting. Go to the Control System Settings menu and find the Settings of Speed Parameters page.

According to the product production speed and label characteristics, adjust label speed, conveyor speed and so on. If the label is too fast, it may cause the label not to stick to the product correctly, resulting in poor adhesion or overlap. If labeling is too slow, it can affect productivity. According to the product production production rhythm labeling speed material and size characteristics, gradually adjust the label speed and conveyor speed to ensure that they match correctly. For example, for small labels and thin labels, labeling speed can be increased appropriately; for large labels and heavy labels, labeling speed should be reduced to ensure accurate and safe application.

(2) Mechanical Structure Adjustment

Change the tension on the transmission parts, like the belts and chains: The tension of the transmission parts has an effect on how well the labeling machine works and how stable it is. If the belt or chain is excessively loose, it could slip and make the labels uneven. If it is overly tight, it will make transmission parts wear out faster and shorten their lifespan. To keep the tension of the belt or chain in the right range, use a special tool to change it.. When adjusting, ensure that the tension on both sides is the same, so as to avoid uneven tension caused by transmission instability.

Inspection and adjustment of motor and speed reducer the Matching: Improper matching of motor and speed reducer will lead to unstable output power and influence sticker speed. Make sure that the motor and reducer models, power, speed, and other settings are all the same. Replace the right motor or speed reducer if there is a mismatch.. At the same time, check whether the connection between the motor and gearbox is loose. If loose, tighten immediately.

Improving the way for power to flow through the Labeling Mechanism: Look at the power transmission channel of the labeling mechanism and see if you can find any evident energy loss.. For example, check the wear and tear of transmission shaft, coupler, etc., if wear and tear timely replacement; optimize the distribution of transmission components, reduce unnecessary bending and friction, reduce energy loss and improve the efficiency of power transmission efficiency, thus ensuring the stability of labeling speed.
